The itinerary below is for three-nights. The activities include informative walks, basic tracking skills, game drives focusing on animal behavior and their ecology, traditional bush craft and survival skills, evening storytelling session on Zulu & Shangaan culture and an interactive reptile presentation. All activities are geared towards maximum participant involvement. The activities are presented by highly trained professionals and no prior knowledge or experience is required by the participants. The activities outlined in the itinerary can be tailored to suit the clients’ needs.

Day 1 • Arrive via road or air transfer • Welcome, camp orientation and settle into tents • Light lunch • Safety and introduction • Afternoon game drive with sundowners. Interesting info on nocturnal animals & astronomy is discussed. • Dinner • Relax and share stories around campfire
Day 2 • Early morning wake up call • Coffee, tea, rusks and fruit • Informative bush walk with the possibility of tracking one of the ‘big 5’ on foot • Brunch • Bush craft: o Start a fire using the friction method developed by the San Bushmen o Methods of carrying a fire from one location to the next o Making rope (strong enough to pull a vehicle) and snares from plants o Making a herbal cigarette against headaches o Carving out cups from wild melons • Relax around pool or tent • Light lunch • Afternoon game drive focusing on ecological processes and the role of the various animals encountered within the greater system. • Dinner • Relax around campfire
Day 3 • Early morning wake up call • Coffee, tea, rusks and fruit • Informative bush walk with the possibility of tracking one of the ‘big 5’ on foot • Brunch • Reptile presentation o Guests are treated to a hands-on interactive demo. Reptile expert, Donald Strydom provides interesting info on reptiles, first aid for snake/spider bites & scorpion stings, dispels myths and allows guests to interact with various interesting creatures. A variety of snakes as well as spiders & scorpions make guest appearances during the demo. • Lunch • Relax at pool or tents • Afternoon game drive with sundowner drinks. Interesting info on what animal behaviour can teach us about life. • Dinner in the riverbed • Storytelling on Zulu & Shangaan culture
Day 4 • Early morning wake up call • Tea, coffee, fruit and rusks • Informative bush walk with the possibility of tracking one of the ‘big 5’ on foot • Brunch • Return via air or road
Rates include: • Tented accommodation • All meals, snacks, tea/coffee, soft drinks and juices • Daily walks, game drives and all the activities listed in the itinerary • VAT @ 14% • Tour operator commission
Rates exclude: • Guide and camp staff gratuities. Guideline for camp staff gratuity: • R 200 - R 400 per staff member per visiting group. Guides: at group’s discretion. • Alcohol (BES can arrange this or guests can bring their own) • R100 per person conservation levy (payable in cash or credit card on entering Timbavati) - subject to change • R 80 vehicle levy • All transfers

Payments: • A 50% deposit is required for confirmation of all reservations and full payment is required before arrival. Cancellations: • A 10% levy will be charged on confirmed bookings cancelled up to 4 weeks and more prior to arrival. • A 25% levy will be charged on confirmed bookings cancelled 2 to 4 weeks prior to arrival. • A 50% levy will be charged on confirmed bookings cancelled within 2 weeks prior to arrival. • Full payment will be charged on confirmed bookings cancelled 5 days or less prior to arrival or not arriving without prior arrangement. |
