The Kruger Park was established in 1898, with the intention of protecting the wildlife of the South African lowveld, the Kruger Park is commonly described as one of the world’s greatest wildlife conservation areas.
Home to more species of wildlife than any other game sanctuary on the continent, the park is unrivalled in terms of diversity of its life forms. Dubbed the flagship of South African national parks, it boasts an impressive number of animal species, including 336 types of trees, 49 fish, 114 reptiles, 507 birds, and 147 mammals.
It is one of Africa’s few remaining havens for big cats and well over a thousand lions as well as large populations of leopard and cheetahs, plus wild dogs, and the smaller predators like Lynx, servals and civet cat, and never forget the ever present hyenas and jackals These animals are free in their own natural habitat.
Although Firelight Tours & Safaris ensures that you are entertained in luxury, the visitor also gets the opportunity to be close to the African spirit and bond with Mother Nature intimately. Imagine getting up at sunrise for walks in the untamed bush...Imagine having dinner under the stars while watching the flame of the fire dance under an open African sky...Imagine all this while hearing night sounds, such as the roar of the lions close by, the hyenas and the jackals call, the rutting of the impalas during breeding season breeding, and the crackling of the elephants as the eat close by.
